ABOUT
Domestic violence is a form of victimization that entails being exposed to it at home, either by witnessing the violence or by being exposed to its aftereffects. When someone other than the direct victim of domestic violence is impacted by the abuse, this is referred to as indirect victimization of domestic violence. Young people may suffer deep and long-lasting effects because of being indirectly victims of domestic abuse.
The SOOS project aims to address the issues of indirect victimization of young people who are exposed to domestic violence, by raising awareness on the need to change the vicious cycle of violence and to change behaviors.

Aim & Objectives
The aim of the SOOS project is to raise awareness about the potential impact of domestic violence on youth and to highlight the risks of experiencing domestic violence and its potential effects on the physical, emotional, and psychological health of youth.
The SOOS project also aims to provide resources and support to those affected by domestic violence and to educate the public on preventative measures. Ultimately, the SOOS project endeavors to reduce the prevalence of domestic violence in our society and create safer and healthier environments for young people.

Increase the awareness of young people about the risks and dangers of domestic violence and develop strategies to help young people cope with the effects of domestic violence.

Foster supportive relationships between young people and adults to promote resilience and provide young people with a supportive network of peers who have also experienced domestic violence.

Provide young people with access to appropriate mental health services and create a safe environment for young people to discuss their experiences and feelings.

Educate young people on the importance of healthy relationships and encourage them to speak out against domestic violence and build a sense of empowerment.

Develop a plan of action to prevent further domestic violence in the home and connect young people with community resources that can provide support and assistance.
